Maar liefst veertig bijdragen maken deze feestbundel voor Frans Theuws tot een zeer interessante publicatie die je gewoon wilt hebben. Alle artikelen zijn geschreven in het Engels, maar de onderwerpen hebben dan ook vaak een grensoverschrijdende impact. Neem bijvoorbeeld “How many years should chronological units cover in archaeology?” van Frank Siegmund. Hier wordt serieus stil gestaan bij hoe in de loop der tijd vondst(complex)en gedateerd werden binnen verschillende perioden en culturen. Of “The enigma of the oval-shaped house on the Northwest European Plain, AD 475-1000.” Van Antoinette Huijbers. Zij betoogt dat de vorm van de huizen een uiting is van culturele identiteit, waarbij de vorm te herleiden is tot de vorm van schepen.
